Air condition pump not running

Yeah I started thinking I remember seeing the shaft I believe so gonna try grabbing that with pliers to see if it turns freely or f it is locked up

I think that some of these A/C pumps are also mag driven so there may not be a shaft turning.

Yeah I pulled my old one apart and it is mag driven. Not sure when I will get a chance to mess with it again. Supposed to storm tomorrow and we are getting new siding on the back of our house very soon (maybe this week) and I have stuff to get done before they get here. May tru to get down there Wednesday or Thursday depending on siding and weather

The sure way to see if the pump is bad, is to splice on a 110v male plug and plug it into a receptacle. You can eliminate the pump being good or bad and know for sure.

Yeah I only leave it on for maybe 10 seconds when I test it. The first few times maybe 30 seconds. I have always ran up and checked for water coming out the discharge as soon as I turn it on so I caught it pretty quick

Thats what I just did with my old pump. But I think I'll pull the impeller housing off the current pump and try again before I cut the wires. Then if it doesn't come on then I'll pull the pump out and start bench testing. But 99% sure pump is bad since there is power going to it but I want to rule out the possibility of something wedged inside there that may be causing it to bind but I don't hear anything that sounds like it is trying to come on

Seems like a lot of work to diagnose a bad pump.

Last year I bought a spare and keep it onboard...if it stops pumping water there will be no testing just swapping it out...

I agree to a point, which is why I bought the pump that is on there now. The old one had a crack. Had no idea if I could replace the cracked part so just bought a new one to be done with it. However, since I now have 2 semi-working pumps then might as well try to make 1 working one. I mean that $400 will give me one days worth of boat fuel...lol

Damn! It was like $300 last year!

I found it for ~$350 but thats the cheapest

Fixed it today. Took the impeller and housing off the bad pump and put it on the old pump that had the cracked housing. All good now.
