HI folks. I'm working to upgrade some of the electronic equipment on my boat and am going from the stock Clarion A1200 to the Sony XM-604M Marine 600W 4/3-Channel Amp. Currently, the subwoofer under the captains seat is not hooked up which leads me to my new question.

Do you have any suggestions on how to hook it up to the 8 speakers and sub?

Thanks, Tim

Do you have 4 speakers in the cabin and 4 in the cockpit?

Yes. 4 in the cabin, 4 in the cockpit and then the one subwoffer that's under the captains seat that wasn't being used nor hooked up which I suspect is because the amp coudln't handle that capacity.

If it were me I'd leave the 4 cabin speakers hooked to the head unit and get a 5 channel or 6 channel amp... i don't see the one you're looking at doing what you want.

Darn the luck. :-( Thanks for the feedback. Bummer. I thought for sure I could make this work somehow.

Well you can with two speakers and a sub but 4 plus sub is to much IMHO.

For now, I installed some new Alpine SPS M600 6.5" 220 Watt speakers in the cockpit and wow, what a difference! They actually have a little bit of boom to them. I'd like to get a subwoofer working eventually but for now, I'm set. Thanks!

BTW, I replaced some old pioneer speakers and they are NIGHT & DAY difference! :)

Sweet... if you're happy that's what matters. Best of luck with future upgrades!

Going to replace the other two cockpit speakers with same alpine speakers. Loving the new sounds for sure and can't wait to have all nice speakers/sound :)
