Anyone have experience with these. I've been considering installing the A6 model on our boat but not crazy about drilling holes under the waterline. I have considered mounting them on the underside of the swim platform but not sure how effective the lighting would be with that arrangement.

Thanks for your thoughts! :smt001

I love lights.

But this Peterbilt won't sink....Well, You get what I mean.
I'd Rather not drill a hole below the waterline. Any ThruHull is a potential leak. Build a bracket off of the swim platform and keep the lights close to the transom.
I would not drill a hole just for decorating a boat with "Chicken lights" (Trucker term for what you see on the Pete.)

guess we have to do our own search for this item!
Not sure about the sarcasm -- if that is what you intended.

All I asked was a simple question. You can "Google" "amphibian a6 led" and get all the info on these from the manufacturer.

I am leaning toward installing on the underside of the swim platform but am concerned about how effective the lights would be in that configuration.

Again, thanks in advance for your constructive thoughts.

While you certainly can install them below the platform it really takes away from the effect. Instead of nice glowing water around your transom you have bright reflections coming from the surface of the water with waves and ripples. Boats have had things bolted to the transom forever, so I wouldn't worry about it now. The Amphibians are nice lights, easy to install and bright. On your boat I would go with 2 A12's.

Thanks admin. I was thinking that, as you stated, I would lose the nice effect of the underwater glow as well. I'll have to think about the A12's; they get kind of expensive.

As far as the transom, I see your point, I've already got a number of holes under the waterline. I guess 2 more (for the wires) won't sink me -- I hope!

Thanks for your response!:smt001
