If anyone remmembers i have a history of alarm problems! This one is alittle different. I have a Zodiac Dinghy that has a 30hp mercury on her. She has been in storage for about 10 months. Brought her back to Ky, washed her up and started the engine. No problem except the engine alarm is on. The emerg switch is upright and i dont see any other cutoff alarms or a place to put anything else on to. I may have to call previous owner but thought somebody might know what iam doing wrong. JC

If it's a 4 stroke engine it may be the low oil pressure alarm.

Thanks Fred. It is a 2 stroke, but that was the problem. Thanks for your reply and you are right. JC

JC,

If it is a 2 stroke, you might want to consider going back to the old way of mixing oil in the fuel. I've seen several nice 2 strokes ruined because of inadequate oil in the fuel mix. Most motors have a nylon follower that drives the oil injection pump and they can wear out with no warning.

Just a thought; for what it is worth.......but I'm a dinasaur who doesn't always believe the new way is the best way!
