another "unusual" boat cruising through S Florida

Since my only projects for the summer have only been recarpeting and some upholstery, and installing a new A/c unit, I've spent a good deal of time at Jimbo's Sandbar in Dania Beach consuming copious amounts of Sailor Jerry, and searching the oddities on the ICW. My drinking buddies know I have a penchant for the unusual so I was hailed for happy hour to see this boat. The guy is in the midst of a "cruise" from N Carolina to Key West.. (where I imagine he'll fit in nicely) He left in November of 09 from the Carolinas

Ohhhh so that's what that was

He's from our area (about 100yrds from our slip). We went by it while he was constructing it and we couldn't figure out what it was. Then it disappeared (thought a storm took it away).

So thats where the NY garbage barge finally ended up! Haven't seen or heard about it since the 80's.
