Anyone docking in saginaw bay area

Nice lookin rig getaway,i have two 3 ft planner masts and six rod holders (titelocks),also six inline planners and a butt load of spoons hardbodys and i make my own crawler harnesses.

Sounds like we would have plenty of stories to swap Glenn!

Hope to see you in the Bay soon. I'm headed back over to Port Sanilac this Friday. Then hopefully out in the Bay for some Walleyes maybe over the weekend, weather permitting of course.

great looking rig Getaway! If you don't mind me asking where did you get it? I'm looking to add one to mine as there is no arch on it.

Thanks Acb4boss!
I build radar arches as a hobby out of my barn. I've built around 40 custom units for boats. I also make fixed rod holders, bird trees, downrigger/board stands etc. Pretty much anything aluminum or wood I can handle!

I'll send you a PM Acb4boss.

Thanks!
Bob

where at acb4boss?wheelers?lindys?i got in the 5th then hit a submeged log in the river just north of wheelers while still on the way to my slip.had it pulled on the 7th and she went back in yesterday at andersons but i wont be able to pick her up untill saturday.Glen

Did the same thing the other day Glenn. Put the boat in for a quick family cruise before rigging it for the salmon tourney. Hit a submerged log and knocked a blade off the wheel. Luckily I could run on a stainless prop that I have as a spare. That stainless prop sucks. Gonna buy a new aluminum one this week.

I'm at Lindy's. Only got to get her out once so far as the weather has not been very cooperative. More to come soon I hope. Sorry to hear about your guy's bad luck, hope everything works out ok...and that it's not contagious LOL!!

GREAT evening outon the boat tonight! Simply went for a cruze with friends and enjoyed every aspect of it; right on down to the vintage '88 Macanudos!

Macanudos?

Fuentes mmmm "OK".....Cohibas.....I have those as well, however they were not chosen to go along on this trip...nothing better than a good tip!

For anyone "into" cigars I have an Xikar humidor AND a Daniel Marshall, which are supposedly the "best of the best". The Xikar hold my "generac" cigars like DelSol, Gherkin, and whatever other trash I may come across in my travels and "hey thanks try this". The Daniel Marshall houses my 1988, 1993, and 2000 vintage Mac's as well as my Cohibas (all owned and made by U.S. Cigar). A fine cigar is like a fine bottle of wine and as well like a fine lady; you can have them, hold them, but eventually they consume you! Lady is meant in a metaphorical sense, but true both ways because as we consume the lady (purchase a vessel) we get consumed in the vessel; and as well when we find a true lady she consumes us, our time, thoughts, etc...... There is noting better than to have and to hold, that is, until there is nothing left to have and hold!

In other words; life is short, boats are COOL! Enjoy every day as if it were your last, yet if tomorrow appears you have an opportunity to enjoy one last tomorrow so TAKE IT as well if it were your last tomorrow!

Anywhere to eat on the river (or anywhere else on the Bay for that matter) besides Hooters? My mom wants to go out on the boat one more time and she's leaving saturday morning.

Try kingfishes across from hooters.decent food .there is also a good deli within a block of there i think you can dock at kingfishes though. Also that hotel south of kingfishes has a restraunt but bring your checkbook.and lastly a block north on the kitty corner is a fairly new italian place I cannot read the sign when i am driving but i think it is called anistons or something like that. You may also try to call baycity yacht club or saginaw bay yacht club and ask permission to eat at thier restraunts ,we get to use the restraunt at baycity yacht club but havent as of yet. There are restraunts in caseville and port austin and tawas.

Also, you can go up the Kawkawlin and have lunch/dinner at Castaways. Good food, Keno and cute waitresses:wink:.

You can also temporarily dock at Hooters or Liberty Harbor and walk up Midland Street. Good restaurants are Tommy V's, Brooklyn Boys, River Rock and Lumbermans.

Thanks guys! Though it doesn't look like I'll be taking mom out before she goes :smt089. Still good info for another time and anyone else on the bay and hungry after a day of catching 'eyes' and playin' in the water!
