View attachment 72203 View attachment 72202 I have the Axiom Xl from Raymarine installed and have not been able to find the engine hours screen on them. The Raymarine forum site has given me some tips but haven’t been able to get to it still. I will try them again but thought this group might be just a knowledgeable.
I think I will too. Problem is no one else near me has these so I have no one close to compare notes with. The installer said he installed the vessel view link system and I don’t need the gateway. Does this sound correct to you?
I will have to research that further. I was hoping by hiring a professional I wouldn’t have to be an expert installer also. I should know better.I don't think so I think VesselView link is the Bluetooth connection for Smartcraft data to a mobile app. The Gateway is what ties into the N2K (NEMA2000) network.

He is correct, with the vessel view link you do not need the gateway. The vessel view link converts the data to N2K and that is what the Axion gets its information from. many ways to configure it. Ultimately there is a lot of information from the smartcraft and it really depends on how you want to see that information. I updated to vessel view 703 to replace the diesel view and that gives me all the info I need so I don’t use the Raymarine screens much for mechanical info but it is readily available if wanted. I have a fairly good handle on the Axiom menus and details so let me know if you need help with it.
I can get engine hours on the 703 but I will have to check where when I get back to the boat. I think you can get hours on one of the sidebars. Here is a pic of how I have my 703 set up when I run. Right side is a bit redundant to the middle but left sidebar shows my fuel detailI also installed the 703 and am able to get my engine information from as well. Can you get engine hours on there as well? I also can’t get my generator to show up anywhere. I saw in the manual for the 703 where it is supposed to be but it’s not there. I feel I am missing something.
The Onan remote is a great idea. I will have to look into that also. I like the idea of having the start stop option on the bridge. Thanks again. I’m heading to the boat tomorrow so I will have a try at these new ideas.I can get engine hours on the 703 but I will have to check where when I get back to the boat. Unfortunately the 703 does not support the genny info. So you need to get the genny info converted into N2K somehow. Someone on here seemed to find a way to do this but it required some cutting of wires. I didn’t want to get into that so I bought a Onan remote panel that I will mount up on the overhead dash when I have a chance. The benefit of that for me was that I can start and stop the genny from up on the bridge. This is the same remote panel that Searay installed on the MAN powered 520DBs.

From what I was told by Mercury and Onan the new displays won’t read the output of the Onan the way it currently is putting out the info. Ttmott has figured it out how to get the info converted to N2K , here is the thread in I believe post #6.Have you seen this? I’m sure you’re all over this but the owners Manuel does say it will read a genny. Maybe just not cummins? What ais product did you get. I’m adding a little at a time. Those big xl screens and Magnum radar are expensive. View attachment 72305
Thanks for the link. I was able to get the hours up on my screens. I get the concept of how they are supposed to work now. No 2 setup will ever be the same from boat to boat with all the options. Very cool. Sorry, missed the question about AIS. I got the Raymarine AIS 700. Over the winter I added a Ray91 VHF that would only receive but once I had the AIS info on the screens I realized how useful it was and bought the transponder about 3 weeks ago and installed it.Have you seen this?
