Best Boating Moment of 2013?

rsz_250_sea_ray.jpg Camping on the beach in Monticello, NY has to be one of our best boating memories of 2013.

For me, it's split between taking delivery of our 310, and docking safely at our home port after our first real trip of 5 days on the Chesapeake bay.

My favorites from '13 come from our little boat ride to the Emerald Coast.

My palm tree...(trust me its there)

visiting Shell Island while everybody back home in Indiana was freezing their you-know-whats off...

...and one of my least favorite moments from the ride back home.

Wow! That is what I call glass. Nice pic!

Thanks! Didn't make the calendar, though :(

Hard to pick just one best moment but during our 3 week trip to Desolation Sound and the gulf islands we found ourselves anchored out in codfish bay on August 11. Codfish bay is fairly small and not so well known so there was only us and two other boats there. the nearest town is a long ways away.

For those of you that know about astronomy August 11 is the peak of the Perseid meteor show. That night my wife and I lay on the bow of the boat and watched the meteor show under a perfectly clear sky.

Desolation Sound
Not this year but the year after we are doing the whole loop around to Campbell River. Maybe even a week or two extra to explore the Broughton's

Day one of our Family trip, my brother Troy would meet up with us later that week, but he saw us off from the top of Deception pass bridge and shot this video.

I think i'd try to find a snapshot or do a screen grab and send off to snapfish for a poster-size shot. it would look great in a family room or office...

The Sydney Navy Review. Getting to spend 2 days with my daughter, and a total of 5 days on the boat.

mid march when I got the Carver in the water and knew it was a thousand dollars well spent. I had a hard time convincing mrs that a third boat was a good idea.

When we were kids my bother and spent plenty of weekends on an island on the ohio river. My dad owned a 18 foot Starcraft holiday with a 110 Hp. tower of power merc. This fall my mom talked him into going to the river for a day trip. After the day was over on the ride home he looked over at me and said that is one hell of a boat you got. He helped me buy my first boat and this coming from him meant a lot.
