Getting hit hard by the blizzard on the east coast. In my area, expecting 17-23" of snow or something like that before tomorrow (I am in northern Delaware, about 20 minutes south of Philadelphia). Watching "that guy" out my window, the neighbor who is shoveling way too early in 40+ mph gusts, major drifts, and another foot of snow expected. So far, no power outage... that is my only fear based on the wet snow and gusts. Is there anyone out there in warmer climates who is boating today? I need some inspiration to get me through this one.

We just lost power. The Church point bouy says it's blowing 30 to 40 out of the NE. It's going to be a long ass day here in Williamsburg

Just went down to check on the boat (still on the water) well she's floating and there's more snow inside the boat then out... can't figure that out since it's fully enclosed. Water level is just cresting over the bulkhead and my finger is under water. Tonight's high tide is suppose to be about 1.5 ft above right nows high tide. Hopefully she doesn't float over the finger and then the tide goes out.

I may go boating today. Just got done cleaning. The maid committed suicide

That mess went through NC yesterday - we have about 3" of ice and snow, which for us is a big deal. Luckily the ice accumulation was less than predicted, more sleet and snow, so the power outages have been minimal. We just aren't equipped to handle winter weather very well - in most cases we have learned our lessons and just shut down and ride it out at home. So I'm pretty much home bound for a couple of days - worked from home yesterday. Supposed to be in the 60's by next weekend!

Hope it is not too hard on our norther friends, the prediction is it's going to be a wopper.

Boats not in the water but I will be out putting a coat of wax on it later. Tucson may be dry but it's warm today's high is 80.

40 miles north of pittsburgh here and barely got a dusting.

image.jpgNot boating today just got done shoveling snow but I get some inspiration by logging in to the security cameras at my house in Florida. I can keep an eye on my boat and my new pool that's under construction. Yes I'm in New Jersey right now and yes I'm an idiot. Lol

Two feet of snow and ice at the house but the power is back on for now.

our covered slips are being pushed down from all the snow and ice. One of them is underwater now. Ours is underwater at the far end. But we still have power on at the marina. It's still coming down and blowing a gale.

On the boat this weekend but not going out. Our storm window has been open for weeks and we have a lots of rain (finally!). The river is brown and lots of debris so I will stay at the marina for the next few weeks before starting the 2016 cruising season. Low to me 50's so not too cold to do some chores...

Always makes me laugh when I see cars sitting in front of garage doors covered in snow.
Thats because they can't fit through the door with all that snow on the roof duh,,
im going out for the second day with the snowblower prob close to 30" here :smt021

We normally get a ton of snow here. Last year, after getting fed up with my third snow clearing contractor, I bought this bad boy to clear the snow myself.

The only snow we've gotten since was the two inches of slush that fell over Christmas when I took this pic...

Went down to check on the boat last night and she didn't budge. Tide was up over the bulkhead about a foot. The boat a few slips down didn't do so well. Bow lines and spring lines snapped and the wind pushed the boat up and over the bulkhead. The only thing holding the boat was apicnic table. I grabbed some lines of my boat and pushed the boat back into the slip and retied. Swim platform and transom was pretty smashed up but it made it. Left him a note to return my lines when he's done and he called me today with probably the biggest thank you I've ever gotten. Kinda like I saved his kids life. Made me feel pretty good. How everybody else made out as well

Mine was fine even though they predicted that tide. I have a guy who checks on her when he's crazy enough to go there in a blizzard, oh wait that's you. Thanks again
