Blue Angels Pensacola Beach Air Show July 21st

Just a reminder that the Blue Angels annual show over Pensacola Beach is coming up on July 21st. I am not certain, but they usually do a practice show the day before (Friday) and you can avoid the heavy boating traffic on Saturday. I had a pretty good spot anchored at the Boardwalk at Pensacola Beach last year. About a mile west of the Boardwalk - (Little Sabine Bay) also offers some shallower places to drop anchor and watch the show. Only problem is that traffic out of Sabine is difficult unless you plan on staying around a while.

Hi. We are coming over from Orange Beach early Saturday morning. Where is the best place you would suggest to watch the show? My husband seems to think Sand Island/Ft McRae would be a good vantage point. Should we go closer to Pensacola?

This particular show is held over Pensacola Beach. You need to come east about another 8-9 miles. If you want to get right under the focal point of the show, anchor in Little Sabine Bay, or in front of the Quietwater Beach Boardwalk (Intracoastal side, not the Gulf Side). Just a word of caution that the area will be fairly congested with boats, jet skis, sail boats, and anything that floats and is capable of carrying beer cans. I anchored out in front of the Quietwater beach boardwalk last year and it was very congested, yet a great view of the show. Have fun !

This one is a must see....once. We went over one time and anchored in Little Sabine. The jets were so close to us we could count the rivits in the canopy..........but there was just entirely too much fiberglass per acre for me.

Thanks! I will make the suggestion of going a little closer (like 8 or 9 miles :wink: ) to Pensacola. I just have to be careful and make him think it was his idea! Just kidding! Thanks again!
