Boat Meals - Ideas

On our weekend trips, I am more and more the one expected to cook for a couple boats. Being I have no interest in wasting any more time than I have to, I have been bringing our crockpot/instantpot.

Hawaiian chicken over rice one night
Au gratin potatoes and beef another

Easy

Does anyone use an air fryer, like a Ninja, on their boat? I have been considering this.

I do not really like to cook, other than the GF prepping stuff for the grill then I grill it, love to eat good food though. When travelling to transient slips/marinas I lean towards the ones that have restaurants within walking distance. Yacht Club recently posted a new trip, no restaurants though, so I am a maybe.

I bought a Nuwave oven, very versatile, it also functions as an air fryer. We cook a lot because we spend 6 months on board. My only complaint is that the air fryer function takes a long time. Other than that the thing is great. As an oven, I can roast a small turkey breast in there!

I never heard of Nuwave, just checked them out, they look pretty slick. Which model do you have?

Usually bring a pound of shrimp salad and chicken salad, then some lunch meats. That’s breakfast and snacks, then we’re bar snacks and a decent dinner, we’re on vaca when we’re on the boat, be it a weekend or a week

On second thought, if you are going to mainly use the air fry option on this, it’s probably not for you.
Fresh cut fries would be about 20 minutes in my home air fryer. Going on 60 minutes for my batch on the boat tonight.

All your fancy cooking. Jack knows boat food.

We got this to use as our only home kitchen appliance during a long remodel over the winter, then install on the boat:

Microwave, toaster oven and air fryer all in one. Very happy so far. Fits perfectly in the OEM cabinet. Pricy but I think cheaper and less cumbersome than having 2 or three stand-alone appliances. I think I picked up the idea on a post here and a couple other CSR members are using them.
