Got this idea from here! Finally got around to installing them. Union Marine did the work, sounds great and tucks away when not in use. The mounting of them is very strong but still a bit concerned about how they will take the licking of big waves we can get in during the winter and in general in the straights (San Juan Islands).

Great...now two of you guys have done this. Still on my list!!! Looks awesome. Thanks for sharing.

You have working latches on those locker doors, yes? I'd imagine they'll hold up just fine. If you're being that hard on the boat I'd bet you'll have bigger problems than those speaker pods :)

Looks good....

Looks great! we love ours!

We don't run at any more than 10 mph with them up. We also added stronger struts to the hatches.

Any one else tackle the dash speakers?

Dash is still on the to-do list. Probably a winter project for me, fiberglass work in the summer is no fun.

I did do the dash speakers. They work great. The deck has four zones to control volume. The four i have is
1. Cockput
2. Stern
3. Bow
4. Dash
It makes a big difference having the dash speakers as in long runs, without them, i would have the stereo up quite loud and if anyone was in the cockpit it would be hard to have a conversation. Now that i can isolate to just the dash speakers, those sitting in back can have a more pleasant time talking.

One issue i did find though, the dash speakers are white. I now know why Sea Ray used the color of dash they chose. The reflection of the white speaker grills is pretty extensive. I am trying to find a way to color match the speaker grills (just on the dash).
