OK, Frank I could use your expertise here and anyone else with these cat engines....

The port engine has been dieing intermittently lately... I believe the power to the fuel solenoid is the culprit. I ran a fused jumper wire from the positive side of a battery to the positive side of the solenoid and it ran perfectly last time out.... the solenoid was replaced last season as the problem arose then too, but I thought the new solenoid solved it.... Evidently not.... Any ideas here ? Before I call the diesel mechanic and start wracking up $75/hour....

Thank you in advance, Mark

It appears you have solved your own problem. I'm sure Frank will ellaborate but if you wired around it and had no problems????
Also I have a friend whose 3116 was having the same problems. Turns out it was the master plug on the engine that wasn't making connection. Pulled the plug apart a few times and no more problem. You have to remember the fireboy system also can shut that solenoid off. These are places to start.

the jumper wire is a temporary fix.... I'd like to figure out the problem behind the symptom.....

Now that's good intel - Thank you !

Check the ring terminal on the solenoid to be sure it is tight and there is a good crimp. Most likely your issue is in the engine harness plug as Jack said. Sea Ray uses a floating male/female pin style plug and the female side of the pin will back away from the male end and , even though the plug is seated well, the male pin won't slip into the female side. Just look at it and push the connectors toward the mating surface of the plug and it should work ok. Don't try to squeeze the pin to tighten the connection since they do fit each other, they just don't mate well.

Frank W....I'm surprised your post did'nt get deleted what with all those male things going in all the way but not able to do their thing. You saying not to push it in further, I thought was over the top! (just kidding here). See itf you can help out the post "I've got a crack" just before this post.
