Thinking about purchasing a Citimarine 16k btu AC unit.. for my 2006 340 Sundancer. I am looking for any advice or reviews from anyone who has used one as a replacement. Thank you in advance

Several recent threads on the topic. In google search enter “site:clubsearay.com CitiMarine” and the threads will pop up.

The AC guy that maintains our air on our boat highly recommends the CTM for condensers and air handlers.

I bought a 12k BTU unit and the touch screen thermostat. Works great!

My only issue was shipping can damage the compressor tube on top. But CitiMarine was very good to deal with and shipped me a new one ASAP.

I really think a 16K on a 340SDA is overkill and you may regret it. AC is not one of those things where more is better. I put a 14K in mine and it is borderline too much. The old unit was a 12K and my choice was going up a little or down a little.

The problem you will run into short-cycling. You really do not want to take too much heat out too fast because it will not run long enough to allow the humidity to drop. With the higher humidity you wind up with a cold damp environment.

I am still a Webasto fan. Have had 3 of them, very quiet and very efficient.

Exactly this! Go with the 12k BTU unit...

Man you guys live in very different climate than me. I have a 16K unit in my 310. It runs hard. Honestly, a 20K would not be too much at all.

Aren't you dry out there? Mine had no issue cooling it down, but it cooled so fast it cycled off without removing enough of the humidity...

Yes, it is dry most of the time, but not always. And it is very hot. Still, even on the not brutally hot days with humidity, the 16K unit in my boat runs hard.

Folks out here very commonly go a size up when replacing an AC unit. Too cold but damp in the cabin is a never event out here.
