Closed the Deal - New Sea Ray Owner

Michael, congratulations and welcome to the old boat club. If you haven't been here, it's worth checking out.

Lots to read there and a good place to get to know many of the owners of these older models. I found the recent poll on "boat age" very interesting, since the '89 and earlier category has a healthy lead and more than 50% of forum members bought their boats used.

Beautiful boat, Michael! Would love to see more pics inside and out!

Keep us posted on your new love affair.

Thanks all. What a fast bunch of responses. I can't tell you how happy I am to be a Sea Ray owner. This forum really influenced me to look at Sea Rays. I can tell that there is a great community of owners and particularly, the support of people buying older Sea Rays (like myself) was a big deal. The last thing that I wanted was to feel like a loser because I could not afford a 100k+ 2008 Sea Ray. I love the fact that owning an older, classic sea ray can actually be kind of cool. We all can't be as fortunate to own a six figure boat but it is cool to be part of a good group of people like this group.

Thanks all.
Michael

We looked at a new 30 to 34 foot boat but my wife fell in love with the 86-89 Sundancer. The new ones all look the same. We looked for over a year before we found a 1988 fully loaded they are great boats and people are amazed when you tell them the age. They are timeless, great looking boat wish I had been able to find a 34 a few years ago that looks like yours.

Ditto on that. As much as I would like a 34', I don't think I could justify the extra $$$ over my 30', which is plenty good for my boating needs. The extra space down below really isn't a concern for me, as I spend most of my time in the cockpit. The 30' Weekender is plenty big in that regard.
