I've been working this issue but for replacement of my TV in the cabin so I can watch on the hook w/o the generator going. Due to my timelines, I went with the insignia 19" that best buy sells locally and got the $14 2 year warranty. It runs on 12v as a standard but has a wall wart plug that converts 110 from the house to 12v (the insignia TV/DVD combo unit only accepts 110 and converts it internally). Cutting off the wart and adding on a cigarette lighter end.

Previously I was looking at skyworth, Naxa, and RCA. Also knew about Jensen but thought they were expensive. Read some reviews on Roadtrucker.com where they recommended the skyworth over naxa and when I corresponded with the site owner asking a few other questions, i randomly followed up with ... "hey do you still recommend skyworth first then naxa"...

He said:
"For the cheaper TVs, yes, but if you want the best, it is definitely the
Jensen with a less then 1/2% return rate. Since we have started handling
them, I have only had 1 return. Wish I could say that for the Skyworth, NAXA
& RCA, but ...

p.s. If you go Jensen, keep in mind that the better TVs do not come with a
DVD. You use an external DVD of your choosing. Use Jensen and the TV remote
will work for it, as well. We love ours."

I also found this locking swing arm mount at campingworld. When I asked if they would recommend it for a boat which can take some heavy swells, they said contact the manufacturer and gave me the phone number. I contacted them, and they said that they actually have several yacht customization customers in FL that use this mount exclusively for their swing arms and have had no problems.

Hope this helps.

Bought a 22" Supersonic with built in DVD. Wired it for 12v and rigged the mount om 2 pull pins so I can remove it from the salon and watch out in the cockpit. Add a good set of rabbit ears and HD channels come in great.

I ended up getting a 22" supersonic for 200 bucks off of amazon. Hopefully it works well . I wanted 12 volts because I already run my cockpit TV on an inverter and my electronics guy said that 12 volt tvs r the way to go . The less inverters the better

Went with the Insignia 26" HD Flatscreen in my old 340DA...mounted on standard Sea Ray stainless U-bracket on port side above sink...loved it as it was large enough to sit on dock behind boat and still view games, etc...one key factor during my research is brightness; need to buy a TV with brightest picture given cockpit viewing on summer day.

My thoughts/suggestions.
