Considering relocating boat to Peconic from Great South Bay

So I have had my home port in the great south bay over 30 years (Patchogue area). Now that we have the bigger boat (and the deeper draft) we are considering moving our home port to somewhere in the Peconic so we have more options to really run the boat and see new places (althought the thought of not having Fire Island as a weekly stand by is not easy to deal with). So far have looked at Larry's Lighthouse in Aquebog and SS3/Modern Yacht in Hampton Bays. Both have some good things going for them and some things I dont love (nothings perfect). Anybody have any experiences boating in that area, and any experiences on either marina? Thanks.

i know the guy that runs the shop @ SS3 in Hampton Bays.
he's a good guy and very knowledgeable.
location is pretty good also
