Noticed the unit in the Master was not making heat, nor pumping water out. Assumed the lines were clogged. I separated the water lines and they are all clear.

Realized the unit is completely blocked. I couldn't push any air or water through the inlet or output pipes of the Cruisair.

Any idea what that means? Rust filled and blocked the core?

Had the same issue when I bought my boat. I just kept pushing in barnacle buster and hooked up a water hose fitting and kept flushing and forcing water pressure to clear it. The copper lines were just clogged with salt and corrosion. Took a couple hours of sitting and playing with it until it finally popped free.

Thanks, came down to the boat today and it was flowing water. Not sure what helped it free up. Maybe it was frozen, kind of doubt it since the water Temps are still 39-42 range. The main water pump pushes water through that unit even when it isn't running so maybe the chlorine block I added (into the strainer) yesterday helped to clear it over the night.

It is an original unit from 2007 so it is probably living on borrowed days.

For now it is running again.

How long have you had the boat? Did you have problems in the past? If you haven’t used it in a couple of months or years it could’ve gotten plugged up with barnacles etc. barnacle buster works like a champ these units Are meant to last a very very long time mine is original in my 97 330 EC 12,000 BTU cruise air unit runs like a champ. I make it a habit to exercise all systems on the boat as often as possible. By the way these units are not supposed to run below 50° water temperature and will usually throw a code when the water gets too cold

I work from the boat daily so the Salon runs 24/7 and with water temps right at 40 degrees (today) it is still pumping heat.

The port cabin and master (separate units) are not used much this part of the season but I do cycle them every week or so.

We have had the boat for 1.5 years

Thanks

An office with an amazing view kudos to you!! Enjoy it . My unit slows down to a crawl and sometimes will show a code when the water temperature is below 45 . Before you decide to buy new units I think if you perform maintenance on them they should work just fine
