Hmmmm, that's a tough one. There is a camp ground at Watch Hill but I think it books up years in advance. As far as hotels etc, no dice. You could possibly rent a house at Davis Park but that is by the week & costly.

Watch hill does have a hotel, the ocean house. Its a bit pricy but very nice. If you can get to misquamicut from watch hill, there are many more options. Also consider staying in Stonington harbor, there may be a few smalll inns there and its a cute town to walk around.

GLM, he's asking about Watch Hill on Fire Island, not in Rhode Island. JRock, try looking on Craig's list for a place to stay in Davis Park. Also, you could go to the Fire Island Pines which is a little further west. There are hotels, restaurants, bars, etc. along with a mixed crowd....

Todd,
I was trying to be politically correct with my "mixed crowd" comment. Personally, I think the Pines are great and can be a lot of fun.....

Btw, looks like you guys had a great trip. Sorry we missed it this year.

Steve,

I agree, the pines can be fun. I just get the impression that Jrock is young (I could be wrong) and may not find the eclectic crowd to his liking. This could be especially if he is unaware of the majority there or if he goes for a walk and wanders by the meat rack! But hey, what do I know!! LOL

The trip was awesome this year and I'm glad that I finally got to do it with my boat. It was too bad you guys couldn't make it, it would have been nice to catch up over a few beers. Hopefully we will see you & Kris sooner rather than later! Be well.

Pines might just be the nicest Marina on fire island... My wife and I go all the time... What a party out there! Just get over it and go... Once you do, you will never want to go anywhere else on FI...

How do you get a slip there? The last couple times I tried (years ago) the harbor master chased us out before we could secure one line.

(631) 597-9581.
Ask for Dennis, he the harbor master

Or just show up... They always have something open on the finger.... It's pricey but includes a water and power hookup....

Get out there for the 4th of July one year... It's crazy. Just be open minded...

Thanks! I'll leave the kids home & take my wife sometime. It's a nice place to get dinner and do some dancing as I recall.
