So the "Duck Quack" Aqua Signal horn died again. This is my 4th one in 7 years and I'm tired of it at roughly $50 bucks a crack. Has anyone done a modification with other flush mount horns as a retrofit to the ones that come with the smaller Sea Ray boats like mine? (I'm not interested in airhorns, I just want something that works in the oem location)
Here's a couple photos of what I currently have and have been purchasing.

When mine quit working a couple of years ago, I was all ready to replace it. Turns out it was mounted upside down so any water that got in through the grill when straight down the throat of the horn. Cleaned it up and turned it around so the horn faced down - no more problems.

I recently joined the dead horn club. I had an Aqua Signal similar to the one pictured above. I looked at replacing it with the same but the reviews online were horrible. I ended up buying the Seachoice 14571 on Amazon for $25.00. When i went to install it on our 340 I discovered the Aqua Signal holes are 5" apart while the Sea Choice bolt are 4 1/2" apart. Mounted one of the bolts through rhe existing hole. The second bolt went in the main cutout for the horn right up against the edge of the hole. Used a large flat washer, lock washer and a nut and tightened them down really well. Holds it nice and tight. We'll see if it loosens over time. Best of all it sounds like a loud real car horn.

I replaced my quack horn with a Stebel 11690019 - Nautilus Compact Mini Air Horn Black. About $27. You can search on Amazon for it. So far I highly recommend it

I bought this from Amazon in 2015, still sounds like a duck (works) SEACHOICE 14571 Hidden Boat Horn

Thank you. I may go this rout.

Just bought it Bayou & 66 on Amazon. I'll figure out a mod this Spring.

Thanks again.

Someone on another site suggested that I douse my dead horn with WD40. They claim that frees whatever gets bound up in those horns. The statement was "works every time". We'll see.

I used to buy horns two at a time and replace them as soon as they would begin to fail. That was before air horns.

Did you make a custom bracket for that? I'm assuming that you left the original horn grill in place as well.

I don't see any mounts for it. How did you install it?
My plan is cutting some sheet aluminum from Menards and line it up with the current holes.
