Can anybody highlight the differences between these two express bridge boats? I used to have a clue but have forgotten the details.

I see that the LOA and Beam is a little bigger in the 450 and the Salon-Stateroom Layouts are different but are they drastically different boats?

Does one hull handle better than the other?

My wife is in love with the center walk through and steps to the bow from the bridge so we're back to looking at these boats. I'm familiar with the tradeoff of this design with regard to the narrow side decks but I'm not going to win on this one.

Any observations/comments are appreciated.

I looked at both before buying an aft cabin. The 450 has three bedrooms with a washer and dryer in the aft most stateroom.

Other than the obvious physical size difference there is not much that I could tell was different.

The third bedroom in the 45 cramps the dinette. Also shorter side windows with less view if I recall. The 94 440 we have on contract has a huge dinette, no washer dryer. Speaking of the 440's the interior dinette and lounge chair configurations changed over the years. We were sold on the huge cockpit and essentially single level living arrangements, having only one leg I think the 440 will be a great layout for our needs.

Thanks for the responses. We were aboard a 3 Stateroom 450 yesterday and I kept thinking to myself that there should be more visibility out.

Cdog, Have you looked at the 440 at Skipper Buds? From the website it looks like that boat is a real nice one.

I am pretty sure the 450EB has bigger gunwales than the 440.

The 450 EB was manufactured in 2 configurations. They were made with 2 and 3 staterooms. The 2 stateroom configuration, which is what I have has a much larger salon area and built in bar. It also has a washer dryer in the "utility room" under the salon floor.

I have not looked at the skip buds boat in person but have seen a big price drop recently on that boat, probably a more realistic starting price now. Skip b seems to price real high but the real world is a bit different. That said, Ken Reid out of skip b where that boat is listed is a solid sales guy. It can't hurt to take a look and let us know what you think. That pic of the 450eb is such a different layout than what I have seen, can you say jealous!!! Plenty of view on the 440... just realized your in florida, but that would be a great trip and you would have a freshwater barely used boat!

Enstig8tor, I have to say the view from your boat is much nicer than the 3 stateroom setup!

Now my wife has me looking at express cruisers...uggh. She fell in love with a 2000 460 Sundancer and is now comparing everything to that one. I keep trying to get her to see that we need more room in the salon but I don't think I'm getting through.

She did say that she wants to use the boat like a floating condo though.
