discolor from heat

how much if any would be expected in paint discoloring on the turbos and exhust manifolds. and rocker covers on a cummins diesel in a 03 460da with 400 fresh water hrs

A lot.......... Welcome to the Cummins ownership club; you are enjoying one of its benefits. Cummins doesn't use a very high quality paint and it tends to brown/ yellow with heat.

I don't know that there is a total solution other than to keep the paint touched up with a quality automotive acrylic enamel and do it before the paint burns off and you have to sand or brush the flakes away to get the fresh paint to stick.

The previous owner of my boat repainted those discolored items with header paint which is made for the heat. The color is pretty close and really makes it look nice. He put 110 hours on it after the repaint and it still looks great.

they all yellow, the only thing if it bothers you is do what was above, scrape & paint with header paint. Sounds like a good winter-time project.

shame on me for saying the "w" word so early in the fall. This is my favorite time of year up in these parts, the air is crisp, clear, and half of the Ya-Whos' are off of Lake St.Clair.

Agree with you. I was on the lake last week and it was smooth as a baby's but. May can be good also.

I need to order my camper canvas to fully enjoy the cooler days. It looks like tomorrow will be 80 deg. I will be on the lake by 4PM....
