He spent is life in relative obscurity waiting for a pandemic. Now he has one and he is going to ride the limelight for as long as it lasts. His continued desire for his 15 minutes of fame and shutdown recommendations may destroy the US as we know it. He is 80 years old and only now has gotten on the big stage. Rand Paul knocked him down today. Fauci is a media hound hiding behind his doctor credentials.

He has a history of being very friendly to the liberal political establishment. I didn't see his entire testimony today but from what I've seen he didn't throw Trump under the bus. It's obvious that Schiff was hoping he would incriminate Trump to feed the next Impeachment probe. Didn't look like that happened.

Fauci is a Bill Gates stooge.

Do some research on Gates "Decade of Vaccinations" program.....and who all is involved. Coincidence we were coming up on the end of this program? Who knows.....crazy world where politics, and the greed for power seem to roll over the decency of most on this rock.

Fauci released his speech to the Senate beforehand. This morning the headline on the Today show was that according to the media darling Fauci opening the states would result in fire and hell on all of us. He is advocating for continued shutdowns and no school in the fall. Does he have a job dependent on the economy or kids at risk of falling behind in learning? Fauci wants this to go on as long as possible to prove his predictions correct and to stay in the spotlight as long as possible. He was unknown before Covid and will be completely discredited two years from now.

I already said it in another post. Some
People like the power. If we allow him to shut this country down we are fools.
The economy collapsing and another depression will stroke folks out. And that will take a decade minimum to rebound from. More than likely to late then.
I am not a fear monger , just hate to see the US go down.

Oh and by the way. I would keep him on board but bring in fresh talent at the top. I believe in thinking outside of the box. He’s been in it to long.

Dr. Fauci was first hired by President Nixon, was appointed to his current job by President Reagan and awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom (the nation's highest civilian honor) by President George W. Bush. He has a reputation for being apolitical across every administration since the late 60's. The only flaw in his judgment I can see is that he didn't leave government for big pharma and make a fortune instead of staying in public service.

All do respect sir. Just my opinion, time
for a fresh thoughts on the issue. No change is one of the biggest political problems we have now. Both sides of
the isle.

"Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."
-- Ben Franklin

So we'll lose our liberty, we'll lose our society, we may even lose our country; But hey, at least we'll feel safe.

Actually what he should do is make it clear he is a doctor giving a medical analysis of the virus only. It’s not for him to decide what to do with the information. There are more considerations to take into account than just the virus.

No offense taken. Dr. Fauci is certainly long in the tooth and I agree the President can appoint anyone he wants to any subordinate position, hopefully there is new blood involved that we can't see and ready to take over, especially given the ages of the major players. I was only debating the assertion that Dr. Fauci was some nobody who suddenly insinuated himself into the limelight for self-aggrandizement or political purposes. I watched the entire hearing today and thought Dr. Fauci was very clear that his only role was in providing Public Health and not economic advice. He also acknowledged that there are good reasons to open up as long as the risks are recognized.

Dr. Fauci is but one educated opinion, but it is only his opinion. People like him, he speaks well but like most humans he is fallible. His track record is the proof. I do not knock him for mistakes when he is offering an opinion but it should not be taken as fact especially when others have equally educated opinions to the contrary.

The problem is he has become god like to the Trump haters. If Trump doesn't listen to him all hell breaks loose.

I watched it all too. He made it very clear that his involvement is from a scientific standpoint. He specifically said economic advice is not his forte. He and the others did pretty good at avoiding the gotchya questions, the setups that would lead to tomorrows headlines.....so and so contradicts Trump, Trump lied again.

Heard something a couple of weeks ago about Fauci having financial connections to a company working on a vaccine and the more fear he imposes the more money he stands to make. Not sure if there is any truth to this but I would think if it were true we would have heard more rumblings about it by now but who knows.

i hate as much as you seeing economy being destroyed and way of live regulated .
on the other hand the refrigator trucks infront hospitals are real , the virus is real .
so if you catch it and get serious sick or even die everything else gets unimportant fot you . boat , money , career - everything .

i think we have to look balanced at it ( even if i am not the high risk group )

I think he's done pretty well. I really liked the point a week or two ago when a reporter tried to press him to say Trump made him say certain things and his response was hey, I always give just my own opinions, I'm never forced so say it a certain way (or something to that effect). Don't forget Rand Paul is a physician too, so it was an interesting exchange. I've gotta think as a Dr. and a scientist he's planning/explaining for the worst, but secretly hoping he's wrong, or his recommendations work and he can retire peacefully.

He's been wrong on almost everything. As a scientist he should look at everything and question it, but he doesn't. The models he used were grotesquely wrong, yet he persisted.

Now he wants prolonged shutdowns that will cause even more harm. Killing the patient to rid the disease is not the way to do it, yet that's exactly what he's pushing for.

Well he can't come out and say f-it, people are gonna die, so get used to it.

I'm not going to "get use to it" watching this country implode over ignorant policies. The damage is done, and will continue to happen and get even worse until some sanity prevails.

Fauci is but one voice. He is not, and should not be considered the single voice on this. Many other experts in his field have stated that Fauci has been horribly wrong and just how damaging he has been in all this.

Yes, people die. People die every single day from a whole sort of things, yet we don't shut down the country and destroy lives because of it. Heart disease and cancer take more lives each day than covid19, a bad flu season will kill as many as well. Quarantine is meant to shelter those at high risk from exposure, it was not ever intended to be used to imprison those at low risk. Closing schools during this was just plain idiotic on a science level. Having everyone walking around in mask that aren't a high risk is equally idiotic. Having people remaining indoors is idiotic. Fauci, as an MD and a scientist should know this, yet he keeps pushing policy that will just prolong the effects of the virus.
