Engine hatch needs help to open

A little late to the party but I had these problems on the actuators on my 400DA (front window and hatch). That hatch was really heavy. Two things contributed to the issue.
First was simply the O-rings at the end of the ram housing. The aluminum end cap the O-rings set in gets a little corroded plus over time the O-rings become gooey and sticky and the ram just will not slide smoothly across them. Easy to take apart - I cleaned up the grooves in the end cap and replaced the rubber O-rings with Teflon O-rings. Problem solved. An occasional squirt of silicone lube...
The second issue is all of the electrical current to the actuator motor runs through the helm switch and over time the wiring, connectors, and switch just can't pass the current and that motor sees a significant voltage drop causing it to bog down and not have the torque to open the hatch. I installed a reversing relay assembly in a little enclosure and sourced motor power directly from the main breaker panel. The helm switches only operated the relays. Way back when I posted about that relay assembly.

pozdrav

Ah, translated...
Good day
check the battery voltage, if it is below 12v, it may not be able to raise the bonnet. If the voltage is good, there is a possibility that the problem is in the switch on the dashboard, you need to remove it and use the auxiliary battery and wires to apply voltage to the lift motors, or manually connect the cables (fake switch), if this is not enough, you need to remove the pins off the damper and manually lift the cover (it's quite heavy) at least on the sea ray 44 sundense.
if you have an additional cover like on the sea ray 44, all that can be done on the side, something thin enough to pass through the engine and power unit, all from the engine compartment. If there is a mechanical failure on the shock absorber, it is necessary to disassemble it and see what happened
greetings

Your making it pretty tough on us man.

Someone here asked for photos of mount on mine, here you go

After assuming I needed at least 1 new actuator (the stbd side was obviously lagging the port side and making an awful noise; overall time to lift the hatch was exceedingly LONG); I replaced the switch on the transom door and cleaned the connections (switch on dash had been replaced a couple years ago) and WD-40'd both jack shafts and got HUGE IMPROVEMENT. Hatch now rises smoothly and (relatively) quietly. Try the easy stuff first.
