Since we had it done, I've been dying to post pictures of our new synthetic teak Flexiteek deck. However, as a "newbie" to the forum, I decided I would wait a little bit until I saw how the product held up over the summer so that I wouldn't post something based on initial appearance but after a few hard months of wear and tear and thus it'd be a better post.
I'm happy to say we're still delighted. This attached pictures are right after the installation, but it still looks the same, even with the unfortunately not-so-infrequent red wine spills (the Flexiteek didn't stain!).
The deck looks great, is totally non-skid (even when wet), is low maintenance, and adds value to the boat (I hope!). Yacht Deck, www.YachtDeck.com, did the work and I'm very happy with it. I don't know how many of you have tried to caulk something, but its almost impossible to not have it end up every where. But the guys that did the installation did a wonderful job with the perimeter caulk bead in that its perfectly straight and they only put the caulk where is was supposed to go!
I had considered PlasDECK as well, but didn't like the look as it doesn't look real like Flexiteek. I also considered NuTEAK, but after a little research, discovered that Flexiteek actually makes the NuTEAK product (hence they look very similar) and NuTEAK simply rebrands it. The difference is that NuTEAK is just glued together and from my limited experience, in the marine environment, glue joints come apart. The Flexiteek is welded together and therefore its literally a single piece of material when they come to install it.
Anyway, I'm really happy with the end result and would recommend it to anyone.
