Excited to announce this. A project I started working on 10 years ago. I shelved it for a long time, then learned CAD in the past 4 years, and just rejuvenated it. The Helm Guardian is a theft deterrent device that goes over your marine electronics displays to deter a thief. Ideal for people that leave their boats in boat yards or storage facilities. Even in marinas. Electronics theft is very common, the Helm Guardian will hopefully make the thief pass right by your boat and go to the next one without a Helm Guardian.
It is attached to the dash using little buttons that are not unsightly when the Helm Guardian is removed. Form and function are both important on a boat dash. It needs to look good! The way the hardware goes together it makes it impossible to remove, even if somebody gains access to the back of the dash. It only requires one small 1/4 20 hole per fitting, two total.
To attach the Helm Guardian you just slide it place and push down the lock. To remove it you unlock it and slide out of place. Real easy. The first version can fit vertically over screen up to 16" and horizontally over screens up to 7". You need about 1.5" of space to install the button on the top and bottom, or on both sides of the screen.
The Helm Guardian is made of Anodized Aluminum. Should match the brightwork on most boats. I have a bunch being tested now, working on mass production at the moment. I'll have them to ship by April in bulk. Price for a small unit that can fit over smaller screens is $99, and a big unit for 10"+ is $149.
If anybody wants to pre-order let me know.
