My pedestal gas strut broke a few years ago and I repaired it by securing the pedestal at a set height with a bolt. The swivel and slider base for the seat work fine. However, the seat rocks a bit and makes noise in rough seas. I want to purchase a replacement pedestal with the gas strut for the seat, but would like to get one that gives more rise than the following standard part that came on the boat: 2001 410 sundancer parts manual: 1271980 7 PEDESTAL/SLIDE, CMDR 12.25"/15.25"
Has anyone done this replacement and can you point me in the direction of the manufacturer that would offer plug and play, allowing me to just replace the pedestal and not the entire assembly (slider/swivel)? I am hoping to find a pedestal that would give me more than the 3 inch up/down adjustment, with a foldable foot rest for when the chair is at it's highest setting.
Thanks,
Jeff
P.S. I was going to create this topic in the 410da dedicated thread, but I know many other sea ray models have this same helm seat (i.e. 380 dancer).
