Help pulling fresh water tank 390ec 1989

Sorry to tell you, there isn't a way, unless you can peel the carpet up without ruining it. Did mine last year. Love my new carpet!

Ditto. No other way to say it. This is a MAJOR operation. Beside pulling up the carpetting, the stairs & fridge come also come out. Once you have the floor apart, you may want to run some new wiring, etc. through this space for other projects/upgrades. I also ran a 1/2" pex pipe from the back of my fridge to the shower sump just outside of the bathroom door. I put the fridge drain pipe into this line instead of having it drain onto the floor. My tank had several tiny pin holes in the bottom of it and I took it to a company called "Linex". They do industrial coatings, spray pick up truck bed liners, etc. They put my aluminum tank into some special acid etching bath, then coated the entire tank with their special primer that is compatible with their spray on product. They sprayed the entire tank one coat and then sprayed the bottom and sides a second coat. The guy is also a boater and guaranteed this approach for life. I payed him $250.00 CASH, put it back in and have been trouble free since. Good luck with your project.

First of all i thank you for replying!!! I'm probably like a lot of sea ray owners who wish they would of found this sie years ago. I've owned boats all my life from pontoons, ski boats, hydro steams and even been involved in un-blown fuel hydros. This is my second sea ray, first was a 279 sd and i've owned this 390 ec for 10 years. In the last 4 years i've repower her (she had 782 hours), rebuilt the generator, installed wood floor in kitchen, replaced hot water heater, removed macerator and small holding tank, removed boot stripes, new camper top and over the last winter removed dash and repainted (fron the teal to black and grey) the dash and installed new instruments. The fresh water tank was not on my list for this year. Lol

in looking at pietro's first posts on his 390 ec restoration it looks like he cut the top floor and did not remove the stairway and frig. In looking at my 390 it looks like if the top floor was cut you could remove the wood floor board as it is pieced in there and remove the bracing and pull out the tank. That's what i'm going to try and do over the next week. I will try and post pics as soon as i figure out how to resize them. Again thanks, steve

I did mine the way Pietro did. I didn't remove the fridge. I did take the stairs out, but that's really easy, so you might as well so you'll have the space to work on the connections for all the tank plumbing. I cut an s-shaped curve in the floor by the stairs to get mine out. Yes, you can take all the floor braces out after pulling up the floor.

Have fun.
