HELP!!!! Starting Issues

Thanks Espos4, will recheck grounds again tomorrow. I think I have checked them all but could be one I’m missing somewhere.
When checking voltage at the solenoid, what are you using for a ground?

If there is a ground wire on the solenoid that you are using, just run a new ground wire there from the battery for testing purposes.

Thanks espos4. I was grounding to the battery. So I just checked again, if I disconnect the red/yellow at the slave I have 12v, when I reconnect and check I have 7v. If I run a ground from battery to either the black/yellow terminal or the black wire screwed to the red push button breaker I get 7v

Things are getting confusing for me, maybe you can sum up what works. You said if you jump the slave with everything connected, it starts and runs. Correct? So is the black slave ground wire a solid ground?

So what happens when you turn the key when everything is connected? Not sure why you mention the 50amp breaker, and mine doesn't have a ground wire.

You have a good battery in this boat?

When I turn the key with everything connected, it cranks but won’t start. No spark, fuel injectors don’t spray. If I just those 2 shiny terminals on top everything works. I have 12v to the little red/yellow wire when disconnected, 7-9 volts when connected and cranking. I ran a ground from battery to the black wire on top, screwed to the breaker, no change. Ran ground from battery to the little black/yellow wire on slave no change.

Brand new battery, fully charged

Disconnect the small R/Y at the slave and jump a pos. wire from the battery to that terminal on the slave.

Started right up

Nope. I have 12 volts to that red/yellow wire

If I have 12 directly from the battery or 12 from the red/yellow wire what’s the difference? Other than one will start it and the other wont

Obviously the 12 coming from the key switch is compromised. So you can look at that y/r all the way. I'd take a good look at the cannon connection and spread the male bullets' a bit with a pick. You could run a jumper wire all the way from the key to the slave to make sure your problem is on that side of the switch.

Ran a jumper from key straight to slave, same problem

So it’s got to be bad switch?

Even though I already tried a new switch

I did, I swapped them out again. Tried both switches jumped straight to slave and same problem. Could it be the battery wire to the key switch?

Your running a separate wire right? bypassing the cannon plug? If so, then yes, your problem is on the incoming side of the switch. You got voltage but no amperage.

Correct. I tried running a jumper from battery straight to key, no change.

To the Y/R at the key? So your problem is in-between the key and slave on the y/r. Hows your cannon plug look when you open it up ? Do what I said in a previous post to it
