Getting ready to purchase a Smartcraft enabled GPS unit for my 2006 260 DA and I am sort of overwhelmed by the choices just in the Northstar line....

Maybe you guys could point me in the right direction as I need/want the following:

Smartcraft functions
Smaller size to fit on the dash of the 260 (550 ish size) maybe 660?
Charts of the Eastern US Coast including Bahamas
External antenna I assume
Nice screen resolution
Best price
Best place to get unit and connectors together

Thanks in advance for any help.

The where is an easy one. http://www.boemarine.com/Products/NS006600/Default.aspx

I bought mine here a couple of years ago and Jim hooked me up with all the cables and tech support I needed. I do not have smart craft on my engines but my M121 indicates that it will interface with it. I do have the fuel monitor, the radar and fish finder. The unit takes a C-Map chip. Jim can identify the best one for you.

I bought my Northstar 567 from Jim @ BOE. Been quite happy with it. It sends MMSI calling data to the VHF - I also have mine feeding the Smartcraft Data. I like that part of it.

Thanks guys! I'll drop Jim a line.

Get the 550 with the external antenna. Mount the antenna on the dash or under the dash (won't have to drill any holes). Jim has the best price around right now bar none. http://www.boemarine.com/Products/NS002961U/Default.aspx

He has the c-map chips as well. And if he can't fix you up with the smartcraft cable and connector, you can get them from our mutual dealer.
