Here is an example of how not to sell a boat!

Oh come on guys, don't you know your sea rays? That year sea ray measured the 268 by the length of the trailer!:smt043

I have to admit, if I lived close enough, I'd go look at that boat just to see first hand what type of idiot blocks a boat up for winter in that manner.

That was my first thought, too! I like the cinder block on grass with a stick precariously propping the boat up. Can you imagine?!?! My guess is as the ground starts to thaw, we will find that boat laying on it's side... But I'm sure it will still be a "great deal"!

I think there was a Brady Bunch episode where Greg bought his first car (junker) like that... had "all the parts"...

Seriously, I've gotten a few good deals off of people like that. You just go in with eyes WIDE open. Only works if you know more about what they are selling then they do.

One season I stored my boat at a different marina with the other guys, mostly because that's what they all were doing. Yes, they did similar blocking. Vertical 4x4s nailed to plywood bases. When I saw that, I tried to order steel stands, but they were expensive and would take weeks to get. So instead I welded up a couple and put them under the boat. A few weeks later I went to the boat to check on things. Found my stands (with the boat's name welded onto the frame) under some POS center console. Disappointingly, the POS didn't fall over when I put the stands back where the belonged and chained them in place.
