Good morning. I have a 'new to me' '2000 330 aj . it has a new kohler 5kw genny with about 40 hours on it. when I purchased it last fall the previous owner showed me how to go through a sequence to get the thing to start from the cabin control panel. it is on a delay switch. I have heard of this on other applications. anyway, I can only get the thing to start when I climb into the engine room and hit the manual start(run) button. it starts and runs fine that way. when I place it in the 'auto' mode and go to the cabin to try to start it, I have no luck. anyone else have a generator wired with a delay start switch and if so, whats the trick?

thanks for the help

Doug

Mine is not set up this way...but I have heard of a delay after the bilge blower has been running for a few minutes though. Did you try and open the hatch then remote start?

The process for the 3-position rocker remote (if that's what you have) is:

- Push to ON, and momentarilly to START
- Indicator flashes slowly as fuel pump primes
- When indicator flashes rapidly, push to START until generator fires.

Do you have a Kohler 5e or a 5ecd?

Mine has a "preheat" switch. If your has this switch as well push it and hold for a few seconds then push the genny start while still holding the preheat button. Always have the bilge blowers on in advance!

thanks for the advice. I will try both suggestions later this week and see what happens!

The 5ecd does not have the preheat button, sounds like you have a 5e
