Last night GW and I were guests for dinner at the home of some friends we've gotten to know over the past year or so. They have a beautiful, new home that sits on 2.5 acres and is surrounded by their new vineyard.
There was another couple there for dinner, neighbors of the couple who invited us. We had met them briefly at an open house at the home of the coupe who invited us to dinner.
As we were talking, I took a seat at a breakfast bar in the kitchen, explaining that standing was tough on this old guy's back. The conversation turned to back problems that the three guys have and what we do to ease the pain. As the conversation progressed, the male half of the third couple mentioned that they were not going to be able to go to the Eagles concert in Spokane on Friday night. Both couples had already bought the tickets, front row center in a balcony overlooking the stage. The plan was to meet up with two other couples from our area who are also going to the concert, have dinner first then hit the concert.
The male then said "Mike, why don't you and Tina take our tickets? You could go in our place because my back won't allow it and enjoy the concert." I offered to buy his tickets but he wouldn't hear of it, saying if we didn't use them they'd go to waste.
So our plans for Friday have changed and we're headed to Spokane (150 miles) for dinner and a free Eagles concert!
Life is good.
