OK, I'm going to swallow my pride and ask.....what is a IAC.....it sounds like I want to keep one on the boat. Thanks for the helpl.

Idle Air Control valve. As far as I know, most are a linear motion motor, which opens and closes an air passage, which in turn controls the idle speed. The IAC has a "step count" which the computer uses to control it's position.

A bit off topic, but does anyone know if the Volvo's have them? I couldn't see it on a quick glance at a parts schematic.

Mine went bad last run of the season last fall, about 20 feet from the dock.
The boat has about 285 hours, specifically on mine the motor burned out. Gladly I read previous forums on this topic, and had it replace under warranty. I saw the technician do the work and it took him no more than ten minutes. He also mentioned that many of the 2005-2006 260 Dancers have had that problem.

In Iraq right now, but as soon as I get back (1st week of April) I'll be polishing the boat ("girlfriend") ;) with wife's permission.

Cheers...
