Snow day = boat work! Ordered and received 70 sq feet of Infinity woven vinyl "better than teak" flooring. Pretty impressed with it so far, very easy to cut. Patterned the old carpets but found I wanted more area covered. Re patterned , traces cut and adjusted. Just need to find a seamstress or canvas shop to sew on the edge binding for a reasonable price.

eBay, Sparta carpets, sells by the foot which was convenient. Once I unwrap this spring I will make a piece for my swim platform too. This color is number 8 by infinity.

I just had #2 Bamboo installed. We love it so far!

I have the stuff up on my bridge. It's great!

We went with wicker weave #5 on bridge, steps and cockpit. Cut it wall to wall with no pieces or slits and no binding.

Very nice floors, guys! That gives me a few ideas... we're planning on pulling out our salon carpet and replacing it with something else before we launch it. Thanks!

Cheers

How are you fastening?
For me, adhesive caulk around perimeter of steps. Cockpit is just set in place and held down under aft bench and chairs that are there (I roll it up when I need to open the engine room hatch). Bridge is just set in place and keeps from sliding by the three cutouts for the captains chair pedestals and table pedestal. The two big pieces for the bridge and cockpit aren't going anywhere. When it gets wet and then drys it it seems to stick a bit to the floor deck anyway.

One other thing. Most buy the high density backing and bind it for best looks. I bought the regular density backing (by mistake, actually) which is about half the thickness of the HD. The color of the backing just happened to blend in nicely with the weave color I chose. So you don't really notice the cut edge on mine because of those two factors. Just something that kinda worked out for me. I suspect an exposed cut edge on the HD might be too prominent.

I am going to use snaps to hold mine in place. I considered the wall to wall install but I figured it would be best to leave the smooth edges of the deck uncovered to allow rain and wash water to run free...

I had snaps from my old canvas on the deck already so we added snaps colored to blend in.

This stuff looks great. Does anyone have experience with the infinity vinyl?

Wondering how it would hold up to scratches from our two Labrador retriever dogs as well as if it Becomes hotter than deck carpet in the sun?

Paul, where did you say you bought it? I brought my carpets home and plan to get them made in the stuff before spring.

Hey Frank,
Midland Flooring on hwy 93 at Hwy 12. They did the measuring, cutting and installation. Love the stuff - you've seen it.

As for other questions - dogs? I have three Australian Shepherds and an American Cocker Spaniel. A big part of the reason I wanted this stuff is to have a flooring that would be cushy like carpet, but wouldn't trap dog hair. It doesn't! No issues with scratching or hitching with nails.

I have mine held down with snaps. In addition to the HD backing, I also have an underlay (water impervious made from recycled pop bottles and available at Home Depot) underneath to give it extra cushiness...

Paul
