Just wondering, did you add some fiberglass to the outside to bond the tunnel to the hull? I think the SidePower instructions call for this, and it would seem to make sense from a structural point of view. Also be sure the edges of the tunnel are rounded, not a sharp angle. Sharp angles disturb the water flow though the tunnel leading to cavitation and reduced thruster effectiveness.

Impressive project, not something I would want to undertake myself!

FYI, I know a guy having bow and stern thrusters installed on his Sabre 48 to the tune of $30,000. I bet you saved a bundle by doing this yourself.
