How are the different boat insurance companies rates for medium to larger (30' to 45') boats in Florida. Anyone do a comparison?

Search around for topics. I have found Progressive to be quite good with all of the coverages and a low deductible.

Good luck. I can't find anything under $2k for $25k coverage on my 94 290.

Try NBOA. They write with several companies and offer a discount for newer Sea Ray boats.

Boaters Insurance Agency, they shop for you and have several underwriters they deal with, best rates I have seen including NBOA and BoatUS. But your milage may vary as everyone's does it seem.

Exactly. It sucks...
Somewhere around 15% of value seems to be the going rate. What a racket. Boat U.S. has been off the chart.

I check around and settled on Progressive that under-writes for USAA. Don't know if they give USAA members a discount, but consider a higher deductible to lower your premium. Nothing wrong by self insuring a little bit.
