Hi

Just bought a 2006 480. I’m looking to update foooring and cabinets. Any ideas of suppliers that make it easy ? Also need electronics. ? Boat in Ft Lauderdale Florida.

Thanks

Tom

Welcome! That 480 is a bit of a dream boat for me. You should consider sharing some pics or we'll assume you actually bought a Bayliner :)

Cabinets aren't something we hear a lot about in terms of replacement. Flooring is pretty common, most marinas should be able to point you to a flooring guy. Or DIY it if you're into that kind of thing...

Proof of life attached. Boat had water leak from salon skylight. Headliner and cabinet wood rot. Hence the need for cabinets. But I was looking to update instead of just repair to original.

Beauty!

Conrats! Welcome to the board. This summer we updated our electronics and the steering wheel. Electronics a pair of Axiom 12's came from the GPS store. We also put up a new Magnum radar.

Welcome aboard CSR Tom. Here is a little reading for you.

I have dual Garmin 8612 screens on my boat which I absolutely love. I can have my radar running in full screen on one unit. My plotter split with the sonar on another. We do a fair amount of night cruising. I will be able to put the upcoming infrared camera output on one of those screens as well.

I also have a Garmin multifunction unit that splits into a quad to show various data such as depth speed water temp Etc. It's nice to glance up at that from time to time. I guess what I'm saying is my vote is for Garmin for ease of use and simplicity. My last boat had Simrad and they are fantastic as well but given the choice I would go garmin.

Are 8612s the largest that could fit or will 16s? I've got a mixed solution, OEM C12 (or E12?) with analog radar, and a newer non-touchscreen C12/E12. Larger is better!

Do the Garmins work with the existing brain controller ?

Tmyz,

Welcome and I agree - she looks great.

There should be a warning sign on this site to the effect

“Warning - this site can be addictive and may be bad for your wallet” :)

Welcome to 48 Club and howdy fellow Ft Lauderdale neighbor. As said above tons of great info on the official 48 Dancer thread

First Sea Ray? What's your boating experience?

Thanks. The 16 Raymarines have a more square aspect ratio and sure fill up the area. I also need to upgrade my smartcraft display (or whatever it's called), and then why not the autopilot. Except they all work fine so maybe just save the coin!

Hi

I live live in Vegas. I am 61 years old with my first boat being a Sea ray bow rider 18 foot seville when I was in my early 20's I moved up throughout my life owning the 18, then a 27 DA, then a 37 DA and all the way to an Azimut 70 that I lost due to fire last year. I am now looking for a say/weekend boat only in Florida instead of the a bigger second home type program that the Azimut was. I always have my eyes on Sea Ray because I know the quality of the build, the depth of the line and the acitivies in the forums, like this. Already a wealth of answers

Hi everyone. I’m knee deep in my upgrades and updates for my 480 DA. Immediate problem is no 110 power to starboard outlets. Checked everything obvious. Shore or gen. Makes no difference. I’ve looked in transom locker for breaker but unless they are behind a panel i don’t see them ? Help please

Sounds like you popped the GFCI under the entertainment center in the salon. Reset and proceed.
