I have a 45' bayliner with twin Diesel's. If it sits for 1 to 2 weeks and I start it up it leaks about a gallon of fuel. If I start it daily, it does not leak. Any ideas?:smt021

Maybe he has multiple IP addresses.. in mean boats, 45' Bayliner with twin Diesel's and a 320da with twin S&W 357-mags

I think a gallon is very normal for a diesel after that period of time. My neighbors Carver spits out about 2 gallons. Makes the water look really cool like a rainbow!

Holy crap - this is normal? This is the type of problems which exist out there which causes recreational boating to look bad. Someone in authority sees a 'cool rainbow' behind a boat and you'll get to pay a hefty fine and possible clean up fee. :smt021

I thought a big cow in an undersized 2 piece bathing suit made us recreational boaters look bad. Did you really think I was serious about it being normal for a boat to dump a gallon or 2 of diesel into that lake at startup??? Maybe you should re-read the thread and pound yourself in the head with that hammer for not picking up the humor!

Either your humor is a little too oblique or I'm dense because I didn't see anything humorous in your post either.

When posting something you think is obvious just remember that this is the place where we once got a question from a guy who didn't want to pay for a pump out at his marina so he planned to use his shop-vac to pump out his holding tank after which he intended to carry the shop-vac into his house and dump the contents in his bathtroom.

Next time I see a shop vac going down the dock I'll know whats going on.:smt043:lol: ...Ron

Guess I haven't been a member long enough to have witnessed the crap in the bath tub types of comments and figured this thread was a joke from the beginning. Try dumping a gallon of diesel fuel in the water in my marina and you would be met with the local fire department, Coast Guard and would probably get a beat down from the other boaters. Hopefully the Kitchen Match comment goes ignored!

I guess we have a different kind of humor - this one isn't funny. Next time maybe you can borrow my hammer before you hit 'submit'.
