Legal Battle Over Modern-Day ‘Gilligan’s Island’

Its seems that the litttle Island has some history to it. Pretty interesting reading. I would buy it if I thought it was in international waters. No Taxes!

Very interesting especially as the article is in a California Newspaper:)

There were a couple of hippies discussed on here a few years ago that sailed some crappy boat from MD to that place and then were homeless there... Friends of Mikes as I recall

That's an interesting article. Now if the courts decide that the Bernsteins never had ownership of the island, is The State of Florida obligated to return the propert taxes they so readily accepted all of these years?

I doubt it from our experience of government (but hope they would)! Many years ago we bought a very expensive personal auto tag in the UK, and had to pay the government to verify it was authentic (they inspect vehicle it is coming from) to have it transferred to our vehicle. When we moved to the US advertised the tag for sale, except we now find out the government said it should never have been sold to us because it was a forgery (two cars in the UK with same tag #). Of course NO refund of their quite hefty inspection fee which was supposed to verify it was legit to us at all! Can you imagine private companies getting away with that!
