Looking for a recomendation for media blasting on Long Island

I spoke with Vinny, he quoted me $2,150. C&J blasting quoted me $1,700. I’m going to get one more quote b/f making a decision.

I’ll be sure to update the thread when I make a choice and post some b/f and after pictures.

He charged 40.00 a foot for a 22’ Eastern. I imagine the per foot price is higher for longer boats with wider beams.

I appreciate the info. I called (Vinny) and mentioned he was referred from 2 different people on a SR forum. I let him know the boat is a 340 and he quoted me $2,150. I didn’t commit to anything yet, and I didn’t try to haggle with him either (maybe I should have). I also spoke to a guy named CJ from C&J blasting and he quoted me $1,700. I didn’t comment to CJ either.

I would agree that as the boats get longer and wider the cost goes up. It’s more sq footage they need to cover and more media being used too. However, I also feel like $2150 might be steep considering what he charged for the 27 amberjack, which isn't that much smaller.

I will update the thread once I am decided and I’ll post b/f and after pictures too.

I ended up going with CJ and I am very happy with the job he did, he kept everything clean, and there were no surprises.

He covered the ground with plastic and basically made a tent around the boat with plastic. When he was done he power washed the boat leaving it nice and clean. As I had hoped for, the hull has a nice finish and is ready for the barrier coat. Naturally I’ll need to do a minimum amount of sanding near the waterline, but that was expected, and it’s minimal.
