Any one tell me what I can find and were to replace this unit in my 300 sundancer? its 12000 BTU looking for a drop in replacement. Or has anyone installed less than 12000 Btu and was it good enuf?

I've heard good things about these:

https://www.marinaire.com/Products-s/12.htm

I recently replaced a just over two year old Dometic turbo unit after the core failed. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed. I got a good deal on a replacement unit, but if this one craps it will spell the end to my relationship with Dometic and I will go with Marinaire.

I have had good luck with Marinaire in the past. When my Cruiseair goes I will replace with Marinaire. More features and capacity than the turbo for less money. The only downside is you have to replace the tstat but its not that big a deal.

look nice would you recommend the 11000 btu or the 14000? in 03' 300DA

Dometic makes both Cruisair and Marine Air. When I have to replace one, I too will go with Marine Air. A dockmate installed one and it is sweet! It has built in gauges on it and is so much quieter than my newer Cruisair Turbo.

Price is much better as well.

Marinaire and Marine Air are two different companies. Marine Air is now part of Dometic along with Cruisair.

Correct. Marinaire is a Chinese product.

And I've not seen or heard any negatives on the Marinaire products.

Just checked mine and dont have the height room. Max I have is 13"

Look into Webasto, we have replaced one of our with one. It blows the coldest and warmest air I have ever felt on a boat. It is so quiet, I don't know when the compressor kicks in. There are about 7 installed on our dock in different boats. Everybody is thrilled with them. PS I do not work for them

I always thought the 300's came with 10000.
If 12000 is the right spec the you should be fine with 14.
This is not good advice. 14,000 BTUs is overkill. You will end up with cold, clammy air and condensation running down the inside of your hull. The ideal size is a unit that runs long enough to ring out the humidity in your living space while reaching whatever set point you have the t-stat set to. Find out what the original spec was when the boat was built and use that as your guide.

Webasto also offers a low profile unit for low head room applications. The SR dealer here (not MM) regularly installs them when an owner wants cockpit heat/air when his boat was not originally designed for it.

Every one of them has run flawlessly for as long as I remember them being installed.
