Memorial Day Weekend

Gary, can't you switch to those drugs that enable you to do 12 hours of work in like 45 minutes? Kinda like that Comcast super fast stuff!!

Yeah...

I wanted to thank all those people that sent me a PM offering to wash and wax my boat this weekend.

We're heading to Jone's Island in the San Juan Islands. I'm sure Gary will be dissapointed with the pictures.....as usual.
Sorry I have to do something.....It may make you feel better that the plan is 5 families on 3 boats....(2 in tents)

We're headed north this weekend...but by car :smt089

On the bright side, we'll probably be out on the Hudson on my parents' boat. Burning their gas

We are really looking forward to meeting up with Skip and his family down at Port Kinsale. Maybe this time we'll even make it into town! :smt043

(Skip earned his combat canvas hanging badge during one trip to Kinsale thanks to passing thunderstorms)

We'll also be putting the newly arrived "Tufted Topper" to the sleep test, initial tests are very promising.

Sorry we won't be around to meet those of you heading to Solomons...though we will be swinging through the harbor Monday to top off the fuel tanks. And yes, the Tiki bar is open.

Have a safe weekend all!

I have two slips reserved in Philadelphia for Sunday night. A group of us are going out on Sunday for a typical river day and then to Dave and Buster's, The River Deck, and Rock Lobster on Sunday night. Back to the river deal on Monday. Should be a great weekend!

We may run down to Great Oaks also, that'll be a good shake down cruise. I'll be the 380 with no name on it (still...)

Fairlee Creek was the usual happening place this weekend! I came over on Sunday afternoon and the creek was full of boats, many in raft-ups. And as usual the beach was crowded with the party crowd. Saw a lot of Sea Rays.

We were in the little bay to the right as you come in. This was sort of a shakedown cruise for the new boat. I gave it the ultimate test by inviting friends and their family. If the boat (and I as well) could survive three kids ages 6-12 and a yellow Lab, we were ready for the season. The fun part was the Lab having her first experience in the water. Once she got the hang of it, the swim platform became a diving platform! And the new dingy got a work out making "potty runs." Of course I spent today cleaning the boat and vacuuming up dog hair, but it was worth it.

All in all, a good Memorial Day weekend and off to what I hope will be a good season of boating on the upper bay. Hope everyone else had a good weekend as well.:smt038
