Does anyone have a mooring cover that you use while slipping your boat?
I have an 18 Monterey, and I had a custom cover made for it. It covers the entire boat in one piece, including the folding arch, to a point below the rub rail, but does not cover the swim platform. I did it this way so I could stand on the swim platform while attaching the cover. It works great, and we have it to help prevent oxidation on the exposed part above the rub rail that typically isn't covered by a cockpit cover.
In looking at a new SDX 290, the dealer doesn't really want to sell me a mooring cover because he says it's too hard to put it on while the boat is in the water. Anyone have experience with this? Does it fasten on the side or on the transom under the swim platform?
