Hello all!

We've been busy cruising the past few months now that our boat is finally free of hydraulic leaks! It was hauled out for maintenance today and in addition to the usual fluid/filter/impeller changes, we're having our swim platform fixed. Apparently when we had our dinghy incident last summer, one of the bracket supports on the hydraulic frame got bent and they will fix that while it's out of the water.

Can you guys please take a look at our transom seat backs? http://bit.ly/2fKhLPT

You'll notice that the seat back on the starboard side dips down and it's noticable that it's been bothering me. I think that the previous owner must have sat on it or allowed a guest to sit on it and now it's bent. Just wondering if you think this is something that we can fix ourselves or should I add it to our ever-growing list with the boat yard?

I'm just not sure how to even get to the mechanism that allows it to be adjusted?? I'm happy to give it a try - just don't know where to start!

Thanks,

Sandy

It appears that the hinge/bracket is bent. The solution will be to replace the bent parts or try to straighten them. The trick will be "unbending" it without damaging or breaking the hinge or seat.

That's what I was afraid of. Any idea how to access the mechanism? From inside the under-seat storage? We likely won't have access to the boat until next week. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

Thanks!
