New 2016 450 Sundancer Walkthrough video

While I agree with some of the points made here so far, the "boxy" look also lends to more space in the engine room and more height in the cabin. In trying to keep the lines on the last generation Sea Rays, it really hurt the access to many maintenance items. I do like the sliding door but still long for a larger cockpit area as well. I like the fact a 45' Dancer has a full beam master. That is a win!

Very interesting boat. I am a midwest boater and there are things I really like about the boat and things that I would need to think about. As a few of these boats get on the water and I see how people use them. I may get it. We usually go out and raft with friends on the water. The part I am struggling with is how social will this boat be when rafted with 6 other boats. I do like being outside when boating, that is the portion I enjoy most while boating. I will admit. I do need a break from the heat at times, so it would be nice to have an area where you are not down below cooling off. The other thing that would concern me is the aft cockpit area seems small. Also the enclosed cabin area, how hard will that be to keep clean and how durable are the fabrics. So maybe this is a better approach than the small black bimini on my 320. Obviously much more boat. The visibility on the boat when at the helm is also something I would be concerned about. It may be fine. But it seems like there would be a number of blind spots.

Guys, like it or not, this is the wave of the future. Take a look at every every pic of every manufacturer in every boating mag. They all look like this! Not thrilled with the lines myself but I think it's here to stay!

What comes around goes around. We're back in the 1940s. We just need the tumble-home...

With the new design you get the atrium effect on the interior ultimately eliminating the dreaded "Cave" of the sundancer.
i believe the trend is more useable interior space. On our sundancer no one but us went inside the boat unless to use the head everyone complained of motion sickness. Now the new boats make you feel as if your in the cockpit with the rest of the guests.

There is not enough outdoor space. When I am boating I like to be outside enjoying the view and not looking through glass. When I am not boating and want to be inside, Ill go inside. This is a beautiful boat, but not really practical to hang outside on....kinda looks more like a nice hotel room on the water.

It seems the style these days for the sport cruisers is a dual helm bridge boat without the bridge. One, it seems it would simplify manufacturing of the cruiser and the bridge boat on the same line. And two, customer input may be that is what they want. I have talked to a lot of people with open air bimini top/eisenglass wrapped sport cruisers that wish they had a glassed in hardtop helm with air conditioning. So they get it here.

My mom always said if you don have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all.

+1

Something doesn't look right and I cant put my finger on it but I'm certain it has something to with the windshield meeting the fore deck just short of the pulpit.
That short of a fore deck is ok for a bridge boat but it just looks like its out of proportion given the height.

My first opinion is that this is a beautiful boat. The inside room is outstanding and I like the galley placement. Great entertaining boat for people that wear sport coats, stay dock side and never get their hands dirty. More like a nice floating condo.

My struggle with these new boat styles is that I like to be in the open air, but still be in the shade. Having a closed windshield and a large sunroof provides the opposite. With that setup you will have the sun beating down on you while looking through water spotted glass. So at the end of the day, I end with eye strain and sunburn? I also have a hard time thinking of this as a Sundancer. I think the name is misleading on this model. Not sure what you would call it. Sunburn 450? Sunroof 450?

I can only imagine there is a Sedan Bridge being announced right around the corner. The boat seems to make a lot more sense with an open air bridge up top. Now once that happens, what do we do with the existing 450 Sedan Bridge? You can donate it to me I and will provide a loving caring home for it

They already make a 40 DB but now it's called a 400 Fly. There was a post on it a month or so ago.

I do like the concept of the boat as its bordering on the space of a flybridge boat but without the flybridge. Pull those glass sliding doors back and the outside is integrated with the inside. More or less like homes these days - or at least the open plan homes in Australia. I'm sure my next boat will be something along these lines - but as mentioned above I prefer the execution of the concept in the Riveria sports yacht range.

I just think the execution of the concept by SeaRay doesn't work for me and needs some tweaking - slightly longer nose to get rid of that stubby look and more aft cockpit outside. Perhaps it will "evolve" over the next generation of models based on customer feedback as SeaRay seems to have been a "late starter" with this concept.

I will never be able to afford it.....but that won't keep me from liking it. As stated, form over function. I don't know what country or demographic the boat is chasing. I would guess affluent boomers. Little or no canvas. AC throughout. Kitchen mingles with entertainment area.......etc....
