New Dash - Layout Options

I agree with most that the twins in front would be awsome, but I just don't like the 7" screens. The single 9 seems like a nice compromise, and get me a lot of what I want/need. Still leave a litlle room for future add ons. It is tight...

Here's the proposed panel from Technografic.

I have never heard someone say I should have gone with the smaller screen. 12” in center and 12” in pod. You own a beautiful 45’ boat, it should have good size (10”+) screens.

If you move the switch's to the sides, isn't there enough room for a single 12" in the center? I get the amount of work that would be, but with a new panel going in anyway your half way there with moving the switches I would think.

Yes, but I'm just not up for all the extra wiring. Plus the 12" is about double the $$$.

Im going with a 9" Axiom+ with the brighter screen and upgraded resolution. Sometimes good enough is just that.

Plus I gotta leave something for the next owner to do! I dont want to have all the fun.

Man...if this thread doesn't transition to pictures of your install sometime real soon I'm going to be pretty disappointed! Start spending some money!!!

Still thinking. Its free (at least doesn't cost anything). Working out cleaning up the wiring/switches and what switch goes where in the panel I usually work left to right, and I'm thinking I'd like it to be.

DISPLAYS --- RADAR --- AUTOPILOT --- ELECT

Currently looks like this...

Boat Porn Alert

New Axiom 9+. Higher resolution, so this thing looks great. Headed up today to do a little dry fitting, and correct the electrical drawing.

hopefully this will fit in the space. I may need a shoe horn.

New panel being shipped out today. Hopefully get my dash put back together by the end of next week. Unfortunately the day job getting in the way of fun stuff.

dammit, why must you force me to spend more money. This looks awesome and now I’m shopping for things I don’t need

Have the dash panel in hand, and the 9”Axiom+ installed. Next, swap out all the switches.

I have to say, the new Axiom+ is much brighter than the original Axiom 12” and the new resolution makes it really nice looking.

Switches transferred to new panel. Gotta bring the saw/dremel tool to make room for the Axiom.

Looks great! Electronics is on my list to do...probably next year.

Wow, that looks great! I have to do the same, but I am leaning towards Garmin. Have to see which Garmin will fit above switches.

Also, are you happy with the quality of the new technografic dash panel? I may just order it without the hole cut and do the cutting myself. Hope I don’t screw it up!

Tecnografic has the templates for all the MFD mfg's and is very accurate. Plenty of room behind the panel for about anything you want. I'd have them do it. They design on CAD, so you know right where everything goes.

I put off buying a new panel while I was upgrading the electronics. I got all the systems the way I wanted and used cover plates to mount the displays, and that way I got to try it before I buy it...make sure the placement works.

I'm pretty happy with the layout so far.

The only "improvement" would be to move the Evolution AP head to the right side of the dash and a Tridata to the left side. However, the i50 isn't in the same family so looks kinda out of place, and the i70 is redundant to the maretron,s and I would have to update the transducers as well.

Looks great!!!
