Timely post - plan to do the same. Thanks for sharing the part number.

I'm all about anything that can feed me information about what is going on with my boat. So what do the gauges tell you? Are they monitoring fuel pressure or do they indicate when the Racors need replacement?

As John said , they measure vacuum. As the filter plugs, it is harder for the pump to draw fuel through the racor, the gauge measures the amount of draw or vacuum required to pull the fuel through. Gauges without the drag needle require you to go into the er while underway and look to see. The drag needle gauges tell you what the highest vacuum was. Rule of thumb from Parker/racor is filters should be changed when readings are 8 to 14 in.hg +/- (going from memory).
Your engine manufacturer will spec a number that they don’t want the pumps to have to exceed. If your tanks are clean, you shouldn’t get plugged in a years time in a pleasure craft. Change your filters once a year regardless of vacuum as the aqua block supposedly doesn’t last indefinitely. The primary reason I have the gauges is that they will hopefully give me a heads up on a dirty tank of fuel and I can start the cleanup process.

Interesting I checked online and the gauge alone is about $20 more than the gauge with the t-handle. I just need the gauge as I have dual Racors with the gauge mounted on the fuel line. Guess I'll be tossing a couple of t handles.

I have the tattle tales on my racors. Love them. Part of engine check process, easy to see when changes occur.

A few years back I got a load bad diesel... WHAT A FING MESS. Engines ran like crap, The gauges didn't have the tattle tale but showed underway the filters were clogged ! Was not fun rolling around down there underway.

I installed the same ones on my engine Racors last weeekend.
Looks, like you used Teflon tape on yours. I didn’t use it in mine.
Might have to do it in the end though because even though the T handles are pipe thread I had to fool around with them a bit to get the gauges to a useable orientation.
I changed the filters last November as part of the winterization routine so they don’t need changing again right now but I have the drain valves ready to install the next time I change the filter elements.
