Not boat related just asking

I would put my Avalanche or Lesabre up against one in a front end collision ANYTIME.

Seen them on the back of some big yachts and a few here and there. Looks more like a sardine can and in my opinion highly unsafe on the highway unless smart cars become the only car we are allowed to drive.

My F-250 would pancake one. IMHO, people who buy them are risking their lives just to save a couple of bucks on gas.

I was wondering if any of the smart remarks about crashes have researched before the remarks. You can be dead in any of the vehicles talked about.I was asking about the car itself. If all you have is a smarass remark please keep it to yourself.

Thank you

I have no personal experience but a guy I work with rented one in Norway and was surprised. And he's 6'4". Said plenty of room and went down the highway well.

OK....the safety ratings are really pretty good...bu they still won't stand a chance against a vehicle 4x their size
I run an auto shop...and IMO...they are an OK little grocery getter as long as someone drives it for what it is...a little bitty disposable car....like a vega.
worked on several but nothing major yet

and in the bar SA is the standard...that's what it's here for...

I guess my last SA remark in this thread is...

gross vehicle weight STILL determines lane choice

A few of them on the road locally. Very tiny car to have on the highway. Seats are staggered so occupants shoulders don't rub. City car only, IMHO. See a few with advertising all over them.

Screw the smart cars :smt021, Get one of these. . .

I have no personal experience with one, but a neighbor/friend has one. He is an MD and drives a 2010 Shelby Mustang. His wife wanted a Smart Car and the dealer is 65 miles away. They picked out and bought a nice little yellow one, wrote the check and Doc climbed in and headed home. He got 2 miles, did a 180 and took it back to the dealer and told them to hold it for a few days and he'd be back to get it. He came and borrowed my equipment trailer and said "I've been on roller skates that rode better. My wife wants one, but I'm not even going to ride 65 miles in it." His wife drives it occasionally, but they bought her a Lexus Hybrid after she made the first grocery run in the Smart Car.

I know you said no smart comments, but I couldn't help noticing the irony when the video in post #8 above began playing. The first pop-up at the bottom of the screen was an ad for motorcycle helmets. Don't get upset with me, I didn't do the programming or ad scheduling........I'm just an innocent observer.

One thing is for sure. You'll arrive at the accident before anyone else.
Just saying.

I have a friend who has one. Drives it 55 miles to work every day on I26 out of Asheville to SC. It gets good fuel mileage and I can tell you by following her it can go 70 - 80 MPH with little problems.

I honestly have never understood the fascination with them. For a few thousand more you can get something like a Civic that can seat 4 people (5 if they're friendly), has a decent size sized trunk and is only a few MPG's behind. Heck, there's even cars out there that are LESS expensive and still have 4 doors, a back seat and a trunk.
