Official (1998-2002) 310 Sundancer Thread

Thanks Cazimamy!

It doesn't look bad and there is no easy way to tell if it is mold in the foam above the vinyl near the hatch. I will definitely check into the gaskets prior to committing to the project.

We use the de-humidifier mode of the AC when we leave for the week. so, that will hopefully continue to slow the growth of the problem (if there is one).

There is a de-humidifier mode? How do I turn that on (maybe one day I'll read the manual).

Press and hold "Cool", "Heat", and "Fan" at the same time until the letter "HU" appear in the digital display.

Does it stay on continually???? or shuts off occasionally ???

what temp settings do you use ??

My fan runs continually, but the compressor does not. In HU mode, there are no temp settings that I'm aware of. It feels pretty warm in there, maybe mid eighties. It's been a while since I read the manual, and it's about 35 miles away on the boat right now, but I don't recall a temp setting. I'm sure someone else will be along shortly to corroborate or correct my story.

Thanks....i'll run it past my S.R. tech and post back....

Anchor Question

We used our anchor for the first time on Saturday (I love the buttons on the bow). The rode is probably 15 feet of chain and then rope. I found that the windlass deals fine with the chain but can't pull the rope up at all. I wound up having to open the rope locker and pull the rope while I ran the windlass.

Has anyone else had this issue? Does everyone else have chain and rope or just chain?

Thats exactly what happen when we had the survey, the rope had to be pulled up by hand....
Marine Max put in new rope and chain according to survey things to do..

Thanks! Good to know that it isn't just us. Now I know what to do.

We went through a lot of little bugs here, and there, with our 2002 310. its a beautiful boat but did have a few things that were not on the survey that were finding out as we go along, if you a question about the boat let me know and ill help you if i can....We're newbies and all ears to learn....

For instance....just yesterday our Sea Ray Tech came aboard to check little things we wanted re- checked.. he checked the bilge and the pump float and it was not working...new float installed..

Everyday we find out new things about this wonderful boat...

We're always learning about our boat.....:smt001

same thing happened to me when there was slack on the line...did you replace with a larger line, wonder why it is slipping. did not see an adjustment on the windlass...

They said the rope was worn, but looking at it today it looks like they replaced the whole windlass, rope, and chain.....looks brand new...the previous owner said that they had trouble with it from day one .maybe M.M. saw the trouble and replaced it all...
It was a concern on my survey.....

question...

What RPM do you folks cruise at...I have V drives and cruise at 3400 and do about 19 knots...

Also, any ideas on fuel burn...

good morning; just brought the 230 W E back from mead yesterday and am able to get back to 4-m

gerry and i just got a new to us 310 and are quite pleased with it. only problem now is she wants to dump off the weekender.

was happy to stumble on to this thread. will try and get some picts up today.

this boat is a very good design and really seems to be bigger than the size.
we were lucky and got a well appointed boat. i'm not sure what all are options and what was standard equipment on our boat but so far theres not very much else we would want.

would like to have a square back camper en-closer as we want to have a screen en-closer made to interchange with camper en-closer-ours slants back from spoiler to transom and great lakes says thats all that was available from s r-

it runs an 43.7 mph gps, i felt that was very respectable for a boat this size, on mead and has 26 pitch props that gives me a ton of room to re prop as we move up the river.

oops its snowing and the temp is down to 34* so i have to go drain the weekender before it freezes

was unnamed so we were able to come up with our name.

I love it Garryowen! I too think the boat is the biggest 31 around. Some other big likes to me are the cabin layout, exceptional ride and handling, and aesthetics. I think there is a little more in those 454's. What gears are you running and what is your WOT?

Also, Great Lakes seems to be telling everybody they did not make the camper canvas, but mine has their tags all over it. Go figure.

What year is the 310????

bill; its a 2000 with the center galley lay out. not the salon seat

we have made the back birth into a permanent bed also. i took the runners off the center slide out section so it will set level with the other cushions and the we got a double bed mattress cover, memory foam 11/2 thick, like our vee birth.
